June 9, 2025 - Driving to Alaska
Medicine Hat, Alberta

We drove all day today -- roughly eight hours -- all headed due west on the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway One).  It was great plains all the way.

After an hour or so we left Manitoba and entered Saskatchewan.  Whoo Hoo!

Some kind of salt dunes.

Otherwise, pretty flat.

At least it was four-lane highway.

We pass a double-decker container freight train coming the other way.

We enter rolling hill country.

After about seven hours we crossed another province border.  Now we're in Alberta.

Shortly thereafter we entered the town of Medicine Hat where we would spend the night.

There was plenty of daylight left so Lynnette and I went to a little park called The Heights Lookout and walked around.  The park overlooked Medicine Hat town center and the South Saskatchewan river which runs through it.

A better look at the South Saskatchewan River.
